How to Create a New BT Email Address for Someone Else (Affiliate Account)?

BT Email allows you to not only create various email addresses for yourself but also for your friends and family. You can create a separate email address for them, which is known as the Affiliate Account. Once you have created their email, they will need to activate it in order to do the BT Webmail login and use it.

Here’s how it is done:

1. On your browser, open the page to log into your My BT account, and sign into it using your BT ID on the www.btinternet.com login page.
2. On your BT account page, click on the Your Products option.
3. Then, scroll down on the next page to the Email section and select the Manage option.
4. Click on the down arrow of the Email Address You’ve Given to Friends and Family section, and click on the Give a New Email Address button.

Other persons can still use email addresses associated with your BT ID that are not affiliate accounts if they have the email addresses formed before the affiliate account feature was rolled out. 

However, it is suggested that you move these accounts to affiliate accounts for data protection and security reasons and also to prevent insider threats to your network security. Listed below are the steps for the same:

1. Once again, open the My BT account login page (remember this is different from the BT Webmail login page) and sign into it using your BT ID.
2. In your BT account, click on the Your Products option present in the top menu.
3. Scroll down on the following page to the Email section, and then click on Manage.
4. Now, click on the See Option link adjacent to the email address that you want to make an affiliate account. Then, click on the Give This Email Address option.
5. Next, you have to provide some info about the person to whom you are giving this email address. This can be a new or existing contact. Then, click on Continue.
6. After this is done, you will get the confirmation message that the affiliate account has been created and linked to your BT ID.
7. If you gave the email address to an existing contact, the activation link would be sent to their current BT email account; if you gave the email address to a new contact, the activation link would be sent to the contact email address you supplied. If they don’t receive one, you must provide them with the activation link, which you can find in the “Email Address You’ve Given to Friends and Family” section.

After the person has received the activation link, within 30 days of receiving it, they need to activate the account.

How to Activate the Email Address Given to You?

You must activate your account if you have been given a new email address or if an email address you already use has been handed to you as an affiliate account. This is a necessary step before you can do the btyahoo.com login and begin using your email account.
